Texas - Johnson City Christmas Lights

Spent a lot of time on the road today but we wanted to take in the famed Christmas lights in Johnson City.  The Blanco County Courthouse has 100,000 lights on it.

notice the green grass
this courthouse looked impressive even before dark

Christmas in the park is geared to children of all ages.  Couples with children were picnicking in the park surrounded by Christmas lights.

We took pictures of some of the businesses and houses decked out for the holiday season.

Couldn't resist taking a picture of the sun setting on this festive of scenes.

We then walked a couple of blocks over to the Pedernales Elec. Co-op Headquarters which is bedecked in 1,000,000 lights.

each trunk and branch is wrapped every 2" with strings of lights
What an impressive display put on by businesses and citizens of Johnson City.  This town is only one of many in the hill country that are lit up for the holidays.
