Colorado continued

We headed east from Loveland, Co heading towards Nebraska with the Rocky Mountains in our rear view mirror.  There was quite a bit of farming east of Loveland, corn, sugar beet and hay land.  There were feed lots and huge dairies.  I couldn't believe the number of calf houses.

Lots of irrigation systems along the South Platte River so fields looked prosperous.  Harvesting was still evident as we saw corn being combined and hay being put up.  Also saw trucks loaded with sugar beets.
We ate lunch at a small restaurant off the highway just before crossing into Nebraska.  The people were very friendly.  They had bought a building that was used as a church and converted it into a restaurant.  The main body of the church was used for Sunday smorgs and special occasions.  There was a waterfall where the altar used to be and tables and chairs instead of pews.
