We had a very interesting, informative and relaxing day. We spent most of the day bird watching.
We ventured up to the rec hall this morning and had coffee with a group of people. Some we had met last year and some are newbies.
We went over to the bird blind and sat and waited for some of the birds to return after being scared away by a bunch of red winged blackbirds.

another visitor to our campsite this afternoon
We went to Roma, a town 14 miles away to get bird seed and of course we had lunch at Whataburger. It's the only fast food chain of restaurants that we like. The burgers are great.
From the birding center we wandered over to the banks of the Rio Grande River and looked across at Mexico.

The birding center in Roma has a butterfly garden and we were fortunate to see a lot of butterflies flitting amongst the shrubs.

Sally and Mark gave us a Cudde Back or deer cam and we installed it tonight on one of the legs of the picnic table canopy outside our motor home. We caught two interesting creatures right off the bat!
I think we are going to have some fun with this camera! I can't wait to see what appears on it overnight.
