Texas - Salineno

Rained this morning but not enough to more than settle the dust.  This area isn't as dry as last year but it is still dry enough.

We went to a little town of Salineno where a couple of volunteers have feeding stations for the birds.  This couple used to stay on an adjoining piece of property but because of liability they are not allowed to camp on site any more.

Fish and Wildlife owns a narrow strip of land between the Rio Grande River and a chain linked fence and Merle and Lois have set up feeding stations for the birds.  Last year there were chairs to sit on and this year the term 'pull up a stump' was exactly what you did!

the Rio Grande River is not very wide here at all

this Ladder-backed Woodpecker was eating at a charred stump when we spotted him

We set up the Cudde Back last night and the only critter we got on camera was this raccoon.  There is apparently a lynx in the park but he didn't visit us.
